Country Cousins was delighted to attend the South of England Show at the South of England Showground in Ardingly, West Sussex on Friday 6 June 2025, joining thousands of visitors at one of the
region’s most celebrated countryside events. The annual show brings together local businesses, charities, agricultural organisations and community groups, creating an excellent opportunity to engage with people from across the South East.
Representing Country Cousins on the day was Angela Rodbourne and Angela Pritchard, who spent time meeting visitors, sharing information about the companionship and care services available through Country Cousins, and discussing the growing importance of personalised support for older people wishing to remain independent in their own homes.
The South of England Show is renowned for celebrating rural life, community spirit and local enterprise, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. Alongside agricultural displays, equestrian events, food producers and artisan exhibitors, the event provides a valuable platform for organisations dedicated to supporting local communities.
“The South of England Show was a really positive day for Country Cousins. We had some great conversations and saw strong interest from people planning ahead as well as those needing more immediate support. We also spoke with a few families going through more difficult situations and it was reassuring to know we could hopefully support them in the future.”
These conversations reinforced a growing trend that Country Cousins continues to see across the UK: an increasing demand for flexible, person-centred care and companionship solutions that help people continue living safely and happily in the comfort of their own homes. Events such as the South of England Show offer an invaluable opportunity to raise awareness of these services while connecting directly with the communities they support.
Country Cousins would like to thank everyone who stopped by to chat and learn more about the services on offer. We look forward to attending future community events and continuing to support older people and their families across the UK.
