Waking Nights
Our Night Support or Waking Nights care means that a carer will remain awake throughout the night to provide care, usually with night time agitation and toileting. This is often paired with a daytime live-in care and support and allows the daytime carer to rest while the night-time care is covered by another carer.
Sleeping Nights
The daytime live-in carer who will provide compassionate and expert care during the daytime can be on hand in the night time to provide help if necessary. This is usually only if you only occasionally need care during the night, as a ‘waking fee’ can be charged by the carer. We recommend that this should cover a period of 8 hours, such as 11pm–7am, depending on your daily routine.
Should multiple waking episodes occur, we recommend additional time off during the day for the carer, or an additional Waking Nights carer.
When matching client’s to potential carers, we consider:
- Your care needs, do you need someone with more experience in manual handling for example
- Location, where possible, we will always send you a carer local to you
- Interests, do you both love cooking, gardening, and pets?
- Other requirements, such as do you have a busy social calendar and need someone who can get you to your appointments on time?
- We pay attention to the smallest of details because often, these will make the biggest difference.
