Extra help during the night
Although both our standard live-in care and advanced live-in care options allow for some degree of night-time support, our dedicated overnight care service is designed for those who primarily need assistance during the night rather than during the day.
The carer lives in the property and is available throughout the night to help with any requirements. This might include support with toileting, mobility or simply providing the reassurance that someone is awake, aware and ensuring you are safe and settled.
We are mindful of the impact that a waking service can have on a carer’s ability to provide daytime support. For this reason, if regular night-time assistance is needed, we usually recommend an additional carer for daytime duties.

Waking Nights
What is a Waking Nights service?
Our Waking Nights service means that a carer remains awake for the entire night to provide continuous support. This option is often chosen when someone wakes regularly, needs frequent toileting assistance or experiences night-time agitation.
Waking Nights care can be paired with daytime live-in support so that each carer has sufficient rest and is able to provide consistent, safe and attentive care.
Sleeping Nights
What is a Sleeping Nights service?
A Sleeping Nights arrangement allows a daytime live-in carer to be on hand during the night should support be required. This option is suitable when night-time care is needed only occasionally, as a ‘waking fee’ can be charged by the carer.
A sleeping period typically covers eight hours, such as 11pm to 7am, depending on your routine. Should multiple waking episodes occur, we may recommend additional rest for the carer during the day or the introduction of a separate Waking Nights carer.
What do we consider when matching clients to potential carers?
- Your care needs – do you need someone with more experience in manual handling for example
- Location – where possible, we will always send you a carer local to you
- Interests – do you both love cooking, gardening, and pets?
- Other requirements – such as do you have a busy social calendar and need someone who can get you to your appointments on time?
