Making a difference to people’s lives with the Good Care Campaign

In recent years, many studies have illustrated the huge challenges looming over the health system in the UK as the population continues to grow. Older individuals tend to have more complex needs than most and the demand for additional care support is ever-growing.

In Hertfordshire alone, there is a need for at least 4,000 carers each year, with numbers expecting to increase year on year. To raise awareness of the brilliant work carers do, the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association (HPCA) launched Good Care Month, which takes place in July. During these 4 weeks, the profile of the social care sector in the county (and indeed across the UK) is elevated through a series of targeted events and campaigns.

What is Good Care Month?

Good Care Month aims to raise awareness of the various care services provided across Hertfordshire all year round, and the incredibly hard-working and compassionate people who take care of our loved ones. Some people may be prejudiced against social care, and we want to change their minds by talking about all the positive stories happening daily in the care sector, which the public may not usually hear about.

Good Care Month also gives professional carers the opportunity to reach out to those who haven’t considered care as a career or are reluctant to take the next step. Sharing your stories and why you have chosen a career in care can have a powerful impact on people, and has the potential to help recruit future carers.

If you would like to become involved in this initiative and show potential care workers what it’s like to work in care, all you need to do is visit the campaign’s official website:
