Country Cousins have been introducing live-in care since 1959 enabling people to
remain in their own homes for longer. The experiences of both Clients and Cousins
over this period has been invaluable in the preparation of our Guidelines and Recommendations.
They are designed to enable both Client and Cousin to gain the most satisfaction
and benefit from every assignment, each being aware of the other's expectations.
Take a look at our Guidelines and Recommendations to find out what is expected of
our Country Cousins.

Sample Assignments
Below are some assignments typical of the type we received from our Clients.
Home Support in Berkshire
Elderly, independent lady requires assistance following a fall. Mrs A needs a Cousin
to shop, cook and generally help to run her home. No personal care is anticipated
as Mrs A manages this herself. A car driver would be beneficial as the house is
in a rural area, there is a manual car available for shopping and visits to friends.
Mrs A has a lovely spaniel and would appreciate an animal lover.
Home Support and Care in Devon
Help required for an elderly gentleman in Devon. Mr B is still an active man but
he is suffering with dementia. He needs a Cousin to remind him to take his medication,
change his clothes and to have his daily shower. Mr B enjoys his food and would
appreciate a good family cook. The Cousin would be required to carry out light housework
and laundry. Mr B loves to watch sport on the television and has a good sense of
humour.
Home Support and Advanced Care in Cumbria
Mrs C has been struggling with cancer for the past 15 years. She would like to remain
in her own home and needs a sensitive Cousin to help. Mrs C will need help with
washing and dressing as her mobility is limited. She has some incontinence and will
need assistance with pads. The District Nurse and Macmillan Nurse call regularly
and are there for backup. Mrs C has a small appetite but could be tempted with tasty
small meals. The Cousin will be required to help with light housework and laundry.
Mrs C advises that she would like a gentle, cheerful Cousin who would be happy to
watch old films with her.
